How to DIY Triangle Wedding Arch

1. Measure your space

Before you begin planning, measure the space that you have to work with. You’ll need to know its width, height, and length to decide on the best layout for your wedding arch.

2. Cut the wood. Have the lumber yard cut your 2x4s into five pieces at 6 feet long.

Cut the wood. Have the lumber yard cut your 2x4s into five pieces at 6 feet long. (You’ll use a power saw to do this.)

Use a level to make sure all pieces are the same length and that they’re square with each other: They should be cut at an angle on each end so that when connected, they form a triangle shape.

3. Pre-drill holes on your six-foot pieces of lumber.

To make sure your wood doesn’t split, pre-drill holes in the lumber. Use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screw and make sure you’re using a hand drill instead of a power drill. Once you’ve pre-drilled all of your holes, use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten them down (don’t try to do this with the same one that was used for drilling!).

4. Drill two screws in each piece of the frame to secure it together.

  • Measure and mark the center of the top and bottom pieces of your frame to drill a hole in each piece.
  • Use a drill bit that is slightly larger than your screw to make drilling holes easier, and drill the holes at an angle. Make sure they’re straight!
  • Secure both pieces together by pushing two screws through one piece into another, then tighten with a screwdriver or Allen wrench until they’re snugly secured together

5. Screw in a board on either end of the frame to hang the final triangle from.

Now you’re ready to install your final triangle. The first thing you’ll want to do is determine where you’d like the top of your finished arch to be. Choose a spot that’s best suited for your needs, such as between two windows or over an entryway into a room. Once you’ve picked out a spot, measure down from it at least 12 inches and find another beam in your frame. If there isn’t one available, add one by screwing in a board across the top of each side piece (Figure D).

Once this has been done, use a drill with an appropriate bit size and make holes on either end of this piece where it meets with its neighbors (Figures E-G). Then use screws to secure them together (Figures H-J). Make sure they’re tight enough so that they won’t slip out later on but not too tight as to cause any damage when hung up!

Build a triangle wedding arch. You will need:

  • some  wooden blocks in all three colors of the rainbow—red, blue, and yellow (for example)
  • Pliers
  • A hammer or mallet
  • A screwdriver to pry the wood apart and hold it together while you drive in your nails
  • Paint your triangle wedding arch with multiple colors. Once you’ve got the shape you want, paint it with different colors of acrylic paint that complement each other well. Use brushes if necessary, then let dry for several days before moving on to step two.
